Firoiu Dan Nicolae
Author and artist of the Glowing Series, and the maker of the exhibitions that grow out of it. His art style is his own and recognisable at a glance: each creature appears as living glass, lit from within, its inner structure glowing through in neon colour against pure black.
He has made exhibitions for more than ten years. As founder of Coco Agency he created and toured Dino Planet, Living Dragons, Giant Bugs and Glowing Garden, and curated Living Dinosaurs, seen by more than 12 million visitors worldwide.
He lives and works in Sofia.
The art style
Each creature appears as living glass, lit from within: its skeleton, organs and nerves glowing through in neon colour against pure black. The style suits the deep sea, where the animals make their own light, and it gives every plate the same look, so a wall of works reads as one piece.

The Glowing Series
Glowing Oceans is the first atlas of the series, followed by Glowing Bugs, on insects, spiders and other small creatures, and Glowing Dinosaurs. Further titles are planned. Each book can become an exhibition of its own.

The plates of Glowing Oceans are shown in the book, on this website, as collector’s editions for the wall and at great size in the exhibition, from a single print of 60 cm to a creature ten metres across on the front of a building.
